Eye appointments and more Birthdays!

Today I had my yearly eye exam. The doctor told me that I am at a stage where I could go ahead with a bifocal, but I'm resisting! I don't mind the bifocal, as far as looks go. I can get the no line kind and they would look very attractive! I like glasses! ;o) But, I just can't bring myself to spend the money. Our insurance is fabulous. We get a free exam every year, free basic lenses, and $115.00 off frames. But, any additional things like coatings on the lenses, no line bifocals, etc. are extra. The bifocal charge without insurance is $317.00 and with insurance I would pay $119.00, so not a bad deal. I just figure if I don't absolutely need them, and the doctor says I don't yet, then why spend that extra money? I did, however, come away with a sassy pair of reading glasses! They are a burnt red color with little flowers on the sides of the ear pieces. Too cute! I get them in about 2 weeks!

My husbands birthday is on Friday. I'm trying to come up with something special to do for him. I've learned after being married to him for 20 years that I could make a purchase and he will really like that. But, if I really want to show him I love him, then I'll cook something special for him! LOL You know, "The way to a mans heart is through his stomach!" That's true in this case! ;o)

I think I'm going to prepare a dish for him that his mother made him while he was growing up. It's called Chicken Lasagna. It could actually be called a chicken casserole, which is what us southern folk would call it! But, they (yankees! hehe) call it lasagna! LOL

I'll try to pull together the recipe and remember to take some pictures while I'm making it.

Since hubby bought me a DQ ice cream cake we probably won't have another dessert. Unless I decide to really spoil him with a homemade apple pie!

I hope you all are having a good Wednesday! I think I'm going to catch a little nap, after staying up late watching the Olympics, before I need to make supper and go to church tonight!
